Piano the Way It Should Be Taught

After teaching piano for over 20 years, I knew there needed to be a system change. Music in our community isn’t about training for an orchestra. It’s an outlet. It’s about giving your child another skill, the ability to play confidently for their friends, a school play, or even their own music production.

That’s why I teach piano in a group, with my own method. Your child gets the tools to play independently, creatively, and keep going even with distractions.

What Your Child Will Walk Away With

Chords & Scales

Taught early, so your child can sit down at any piano and actually play something.

Reading Music

A real foundation. Your child will learn how to read musical notes using a professionally accredited structure.

Playing by Ear

Your child will hear a song they love and find it on the keys. Most trained pianists never learn this.

Composition

When your child is ready, they’ll learn how to compose and write their own imagined tunes.

Performance

Every student performs at a recital. Your child will know what it feels like to play for a room.

Common Questions

None. Most of the girls start from zero — and they’re playing real music within weeks.

Yes, practicing a little every day makes a huge difference. A basic keyboard is completely fine to start.

Sessions are 1 hour long.

Before the first lesson you’ll receive a list of required books to purchase. Students should arrive at every lesson with all their materials — forgetting items wastes valuable lesson time.

Yes — a $195 deposit is required to secure your child’s spot upon enrollment.

Invoices are sent at the start of each month. You can pay via Zelle (shirjoy@gmail.com | 862-812-9288) or credit card directly through your invoice. Note that a 3% processing fee applies to credit card payments.

Tuition is non-refundable for missed lessons. If you give 24 hours advance notice, we’ll schedule a makeup lesson within the same week — it’ll be a 35–40 minute 1-on-1 session with a $15 balance charge. If there’s a genuine emergency and a makeup isn’t possible, the fee can be credited toward a future private lesson. Lessons missed without prior notice cannot be made up.

We are working on classes for boys with a male teacher. Once we manage to find the best fit we’ll let everyone know!
